Fastener Applications in Commercial ESS

PEM Fastener Applications in Commercial Energy Storage Systems (ESS) include fasteners for every component of a battery ESS. PEM fasteners are IP-rated for ingress protection and fully tested to protect electric vehicle (EV) components from the elements. The fasteners expand and contract to keep joints sealed after thermal expansion. PEM mechanical bolted joints are easy to disassemble and reassemble. Reliable current-conducting joints join busbars, handling high current loads while maintaining low electrical resistance. PEM fasteners are designed to join lighter-weight, dissimilar metals.

Molded-In Inserts

SI (Standard Inserts) Molded-In Inserts are installed during the molding process, and the inserts are located in the mold cavity by core pins. The core pins are withdrawn when the mold is opened, leaving the inserts permanently encapsulated in the plastic section with only the threads exposed. Inserts installed during the molding process avoid the need for additional procedures or installation equipment. The molded-in inserts include blind threaded inserts (IBA/IBB/IBC), self-locking blind threaded inserts (ILBC), through threaded inserts ( ITA/ITB/ITC), and knurled inserts (STKA/STKB/STKC). Typical applications include electronics (wearables, smartphones, and hand-held devices), automotive, aerospace and defense, medical, transportation, industrial, and recreational equipment.

Fastener Solutions In Electric 2W

PEM Fastener Solutions reduces project complexity and delivers flexible cost assembly and 61% savings. These solutions seize opportunities and overcome challenges in eMobility curated in one place. The fastener solutions achieve performance requirements, including different busbar thicknesses. These solutions consist of automotive electronics, EV battery tray, EV charging, 2 and 3-wheel vehicles, and battery energy storage systems. Typical applications include application engineering support, PEMedge™ testing services, teardown service, and fastenerClass® training.
