Coherent FTL4S1QE1C Optical Transceiver is a hot-pluggable transceiver module designed for 40 Gigabit Ethernet links over duplex multi-mode fiber (MMF). The FTL4S1QE1C complies with the SWDM4 Quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba XLPPI electrical interface. Coherent FTL4S1QE1C Optical Transceiver features built-in digital diagnostic functions, including Tx/Rx power monitoring, which are available via an I²C interface as specified by the QSFP+ MSA.

These modules comply with the QSFP+ MSA and IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-SR43 for 100m links on OM3 fiber. They are also compatible with 10G Base SR for fan-out applications (QSFP+ to 4 SFP+). Digital diagnostics functions are available via an I²C interface, as specified by the QSFP+ MSA. Coherent FTL410Q QSFP+ transceivers are RoHS 6 compliant and lead-free with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and Finisar Application Note AN-2038.
