Texas Instruments TPS1HC03-Q1 Single-Channel Smart High-Side Switch

Texas Instruments TPS1HC03-Q1 Single-Channel Smart High-Side Switch includes an integrated NMOS power FET and charge pump, designed for 12V automotive battery systems. The low on-resistance (3.2mΩ) minimizes device power dissipation when driving a wide range of output load currents up to 19A DC.

The device integrates protection features such as thermal shutdown, output clamp, and current limit. TPS1HC03-Q1 implements an adjustable current-limiting circuit that improves system reliability by reducing inrush current when driving large capacitive loads and minimizing overload current. Adjust the adjustable current limit from 20A to 57A using an external resistor on the ILIM pin. The device offers both thermal-regulated current limiting for capacitive loads at startup and non-regulated current limiting for motor inrush or bulb applications.

The device also provides accurate current sensing, enabling improved load diagnostics such as overload and open-load detection, enabling better predictive maintenance. The Texas Instruments TPS1HC03-Q1 is available in an 11-pin, 2.2mm × 3.6mm VQFN-HR wettable-flank package with 0.55mm pitch, minimizing the PCB footprint.
