Texas Instruments TPS4H82H85-Q1 Dual-Channel Smart High-Side Switch

Texas Instruments TPS4H82H85-Q1 Dual-Channel Smart High-Side Switch includes two integrated 85mΩ NMOS power FETs, intended for 24V and 48V automotive systems. The low RON minimizes device power dissipation over a wide range of output load currents, up to 2.2A when both channels are enabled or 3A when only one channel is enabled. Protection and diagnostic features include accurate current sensing, selectable current-limit levels, OFF-state open-load protection, short-to-battery detection, output clamping, and thermal shutdown.

The device provides accurate load current sensing, enabling improved load diagnostics such as overload and open-load detection, and enabling better predictive maintenance without further calibration. The device also implements a selectable current-limiting circuit that improves system reliability by reducing inrush current when driving large capacitive loads and minimizing overload current. The Texas Instruments TPS4H82H85-Q1 device can be used as a high-side power switch for a wide variety of resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, including low-wattage bulbs, LEDs, relays, solenoids, and heaters.
