Texas Instruments bq25190 Linear Battery Charger

Texas Instruments bq25190 Linear Battery Charger features commonly used functions for wearable devices. Features include a linear charger with power path, one step-down switching converter (Buck), one buck-boost switching converter (Buck-Boost), two LDOs (LDO1 and LDO2), manual reset with a timer (MR), multi-channel analog-to-digital converter (ADC), and four multifunctional general-purpose input/outputs (GPIO). The highly integrated battery management unit offers low quiescent current during operation and shutdown, which allows longer battery life.

The TI bq25190 integrated charger supports charge current from 5mA to 1A, facilitating quick and accurate charging while supplying a regulated voltage to the system. The regulated system voltage (VSYS) can be configured via I2C based on the suggested operating conditions of the downstream system loads. Other operation parameters, such as the input current limit, Buck converters' output voltages, charge current, Buck-boost converters' output voltage, and LDOs' output voltages, are also programmable using the I2C interface.
